Historique :	La manufacture du Tapis Point de Sedan, après avoir été l'un des fleurons de l'industrie textile sedanaise, a fermé ses portes en 2008. Afin de préserver ce patrimoine fortement lié à l'histoire de Sedan, la Ville a fait l'acquisition de l'ensemble du mobilier en février 2009 puis des locaux en septembre 2010. Parmi les éléments du mobilier acquis par la Ville se trouvent notamment une demi-douzaine de machines illustrant les étapes de la fabrication des tapis (bobinoir, ourdissoir et plusieurs métiers à tisser de tailles différentes).
